- Peacock Reliability & Performance: We are part of operations and reliability within peacock. This intern will assist in managing CMDB database and help in keeping data compliant. The intern will also assist in gathering requirements for maintaining and creating new Configuration Items in ServiceNow platform. As part of the ServiceNow team, this intern will also learn overall IT processes such as ITIL (incident and change management), development practices, robust testing, and automation and CMDB management.
- Android Development: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Intern to join our Android Development Team. As an integral part of our team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to projects that impact thousands of users daily, delivering exceptional mobile experiences that enhance our users’ day-to-day lives. This is a unique chance to gain hands-on experience in mobile app development and to see your work come to life on a large scale.
- Peacock, Site Reliability Engineering: Peacock's Site Reliability Engineering team supports multiple software delivery and engineering teams to ensure services are scalable, resilient, performant, and monitored. The 4 core pillars of Site Reliability Engineering are software engineering, resiliency, automation, and observability. The intern will support the SRE team with infrastructure management: writing infrastructure as code, deployments, maintenance and migrations.
- Workplace Technology Engineering: This will be a position in the Facilities & Studios group within Workplace Technology Engineering Supporting various applications in the Facilities & Studios portfolio. This intern will report to the Facilities & Studios Engineering Solutions Manager (ESM) within the Workplace Technology Engineering (WTE) Organization. The intern will provide technical support for software applications within the portfolio of services.
- Data & Analytics Platforms: The D&A (Data and Analytics) team is focused on data and analytics strategies for the future. We support NBCU's vast portfolio of brands – from broadcast, cable, news, streaming service, and sports networks to film studios, world-renowned theme parks and a diverse suite of digital properties. We take pride in supplying our business groups with data to advise and shape strategic business decisions related to our content.
- Site Reliability, Automation: Our normal workload primarily consists of the development of Ansible roles / tasks related to automated tasks for Corporate and Media systems and / or applications. Depending on what projects are active at the time there would also likely be development activities related to one of our home-grown portals (using React or similar JavaScript framework). Also, we continue to expand our Test Automation space and expect related development work.
- Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2024 through April 2025). December 2024 graduates are not eligible for our 2024-2025 Academic Year Program.
- Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
- Must be authorized to work in the United States throughout the entire duration of the internship (September 2024 to April 2025). Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week from September 16, 2024 to April 18, 2025.
- Must be working from a location within a U.S. state during all hours worked.
- Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Basic understanding of IT concepts and systems, including ITIL, analytic skills.
- Previous experience or projects in Android app development.
- Understanding of UI/UX principles for mobile applications.
- Knowledge of version control systems, such as Git.
- Experience with programming languages such as Go or Python.
- Basic Linux experience.
- Containerization and orchestration like Docker & Kubernetes preferred.
- Familiar with some CI/CD concepts, basic networking, and cloud computing concepts.
- Knowledge & familiarity with Waterfall, Agile, Scrum or Rapid Development processes.
- Knowledge & familiarity with Python, SQL, AWS.
- Knowledge & familiarity with different programming languages: C#.net, ReactJS, Ansible / Jinja2, PowerShell, etc.
