- Identify and target potential customers (shippers, manufacturers, distributors, etc.) who require LTL road freight services.
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to secure new business and meet revenue targets for weekly truck schedules.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their logistics needs and offering tailored groupage solutions.
- Collaborate with operations and planning teams to ensure customer requirements align with truck schedules and network capacity.
- Conduct market research to identify industry trends, competitors, and opportunities for expanding the LTL network.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements with customers to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to promote our LTL services.
- Provide regular reports on sales performance, pipeline development, and market feedback to senior management.
- Bachelor's degree in related fields,
- 5 years of experience in business development or sales within the freight forwarding, logistics, or transportation industry (road freight experience preferred).
- Strong understanding of LTL/groupage operations and road freight networks.
- Proven ability to acquire and retain customers, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated with a hunter mentality to proactively seek out new business opportunities.
- Familiarity with CRM software and sales tracking tools.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Existing network of contacts within the logistics or road freight sector.
- Knowledge of European or regional road freight regulations and market dynamics.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed.
