- Provide first- and second-line IT support to users of the Company's Computer and Telephony Systems.
- Ensure support calls are dealt with promptly and appropriately.
- Provide client support and technical issue resolution via email, phone, and other electronic mediums.
- Install and configure PCs, associated peripherals, and software.
- Support the Service Desk Manager, IT Manager, and CIO in their Service Management responsibilities.
- Provide technical support for telephone, email, and service desk tooling requests from users for all PC hardware, software, and associated peripherals.
- Log support calls and document their outcomes to facilitate the resolution of common queries.
- Redirect or escalate support requests to the appropriate IT Support Department member.
- Proactively provide information to users on the progress of outstanding support calls.
- Ensure Service Desk systems and software are kept up to date.
- Deploy PCs and associated peripherals, including new installations and redeployment of existing equipment.
- Install and configure operating systems and software to agreed standards under company policy.
- Maintain existing PCs and peripherals by performing upgrades, new installations, and routine procedures.
- Cooperate with and support other department members to develop their skills and knowledge.
- Assist in compiling and maintaining an accurate inventory of hardware and software.
- Assist in compiling the Support Centre's technical documentation, guidelines, and procedures, ensuring they are disseminated to users.
- Liaise with colleagues in all Support and Technical Development teams to ensure continuity of service for all users.
- Provide a professional, courteous, and rapid response to individual users.
- Undertake projects commensurate with the post's responsibility, as designated by the IT Manager.
- Undertake other work consistent with the nature of the job and its level of responsibility.
- Develop and maintain active and progressive working relationships with all IT Department members.
- Conform to Company standards and guidelines regarding information systems.
- Create new accounts using company-provided software tools.
- Attend other sites and vessels to provide IT support as required, including general fault finding, troubleshooting, proactive maintenance, and supporting other T&I departments with on-site assistance.
- Liaise with external suppliers providing IT products and services to the business.
- Be on call to support Severity 1 Incidents for the business on a rota basis.
